The 8th street is an important artery of the Zone 9 because it connects with the zone’s borders and many avenues end on this street. The space is currently underutilized, so the objective of this project was to reactivate this spot. The area has a fast transit nature that needs to be strengthened but it also needs to give the user a new reason to stay and enjoy the public space and this is accomplished by generating several plazas, food areas and urban furniture to revitalize the area by providing it with quality public space.

The 8th street is known for being a transit zone, that’s why the Lineal Park needs to strengthen that function, but it also needed to provide a quality public space that gives you a reason to stay. The public plazas were defined by identifying the main agglomeration points where several activities can be accommodated. The park has a bikeway and a fast pedestrian lane to allow the fast connection from one point to another, but for a more enjoyable experience, the promenades in between the trees allow you to travel and be in touch with nature at the same time.
